Richmond Summer Ballet Performance Camp



Join Sarah at summer dance camp where you can bring your dreams and inspirations to the dance floor!

9am - 2pm

Ages 5+



SCHEDULE OF ACTIVITIES


Each day will begin with a 45 minute ballet class where your child will learn and improve upon ballet stretches, posture, balance, coordination, positions, basic technique, musicality, and artistic expression.

A snack break will follow the early morning dancing. A nut-free snack will be provided. Students may also bring their own snack.

The second part of camp includes craft activities and rehearsal. During the arts and crafts time the students will make costume, prop, and scenery items for the performance that will be taken home at the end of camp. During the rehearsal time students will learn choreography and rehearse for the camp performance.

Students should bring their lunch, which will be eaten during the latter part of the camp day.


PERFORMANCE


On the Friday of camp week a performance will follow the morning's ballet class and dress rehearsal. Family and friends are invited to attend. The performance theme, times, and any further details will be announced the first day of camp. Costumes will be provided.



DRESS CODE


Students should wear ballet attire: a solid color leotard, pink tights, and/or skirt for ladies and a solid color t-shirt and black knit shorts/leggings for gentlemen. Footwear is ballet shoes: pink for ladies and black for gentlemen. Ladies should have their hair pulled away from the face in a ponytail or ballet bun. No jewelry, with the exception of stud earrings, should be worn.



WHAT TO BRING


Students should bring a nut-free lunch and water bottle to camp each day. For the performance students will wear their own leotard underneath their costume. A thin strap leotard is preferable.

$290.00 for 1 student
$525.00 for 2 students
$800.00 for 3 students



REGISTRATION


Please fill out the registration form (online or downloadable paper version) and mail your $50.00 deposit check (per student) to the Illuminated Motions mailing address to reserve your student's spot. Your student's spot will only be securely held with the deposit, as space is limited. Deposit is applied towards full tuition. Full tuition is due 30 days prior to the start of camp. In the case of a need for cancellation, tuition minus the deposit (per student) will be refunded. After Sarah receives your registration form and deposit, she will send you an email to confirm your student's enrollment.

Annapolis Summer Dance Camp



12pm - 5:00pm (Monday through Friday)
12pm - 3:00pm with evening performance (Friday)


SCHEDULE OF ACTIVITIES


Each day will begin with a 45 minute dance class: ballet on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday and hip hop on Wednesday and Friday. In ballet class your student will learn and improve upon ballet stretches, posture, balance, coordination, positions, basic technique, musicality, and artistic expression. In hip hop class students will learn stylized hip-hop dance, infused with jazz dance technique, as well as choreography to be performed in the performance on Friday.

A lunch break will follow the dance class.

The second part of camp includes a craft activity and rehearsal. During the arts and crafts period the students will make costume, prop, and scenery items for the performance that will be taken home at the end of camp. During the rehearsal period students will learn choreography and rehearse for the final camp performance. A snack break will also be allotted during this part of the afternoon.

Friday will be a shorter camp day followed by the evening performance.



PERFORMANCE


On Friday evening all family and friends are invited to attend the final camp performance at Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts. The performance theme, time, and any further details will be announced the first day of camp. Costumes will be provided.
